CS:GO Returns to Steam, Yet Your Achievements Remain Missing

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) has made its way back to Steam as a standalone download after a hiatus of more than two and a half years. In a strategic move, Valve transformed CS:GO into Counter-Strike 2, aiming to unify its player base. However, this shift sparked discontent among fans, particularly due to the removal of game achievements.

Now, CS:GO is once again available as a separate application on Steam, but with a catch: it is currently unlisted. According to a note on its page, “At the request of the publisher, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is unlisted on the Steam store and will not appear in search results.”

CS:GO Is Now Downloadable Again on Steam

Despite its unavailability in search listings, a dedicated page exists for CS:GO, and players can download it. Unfortunately, fans hoping to restore their long-lost achievements will face disappointment, as several features, including online matchmaking, are not operational at this time. Valve has remained tight-lipped regarding the reasons behind these issues.

Nonetheless, the community remains hopeful, with many expressing a desire for the game to receive a separate license, which could enable community servers and alleviate the complexities associated with CS2.

It seems likely that Valve might be working behind the scenes to refine aspects of CS:GO, potentially paving the way for its full functionality. If that happens, a significant influx of players from CS2 could be expected.
