Getting taken out by rats in Arc Raiders right before making your escape can be quite frustrating. However, players have been expressing concerns about an even more pressing issue for some time. Picture this: you’ve invested time gearing up for a mission, only to discover that you must rush to the extraction point with very little time to spare. Fortunately, the Flashpoint update for Arc Raiders has introduced measures to resolve this.
Late spawns have been a significant source of frustration for players, proving more bothersome than encounters with rival teams or enemies. It not only leads to wasted effort but also poses a risk to your valuable gear. Thankfully, Embark has tackled this problem by enhancing the chances for players who have customized loadouts to connect to newly opened servers.
In the latest patch notes, Embark highlighted that “Players with custom loadouts have a higher likelihood of joining fresh servers.” However, they did caution that this is not guaranteed, and some may still experience late spawns. Nonetheless, it marks progress in addressing one of the community’s key complaints regarding Arc Raiders.
As part of a broader review of how free loadout usage impacts gameplay, the developers stated, “We’re adjusting matchmaking to prioritize players with custom loadouts for new servers.” Nonetheless, they emphasized that factors like map selection, time of day, and regional player distribution will still influence matchmaking and overall wait times.
Embark further clarified that the introduction of free loadouts serves as a “safety net” for players, helping them to build their loot reserves and gradually catch up with others.
Given the large player base, ensuring a completely spawn-free experience may be challenging for the developers. However, prioritizing custom loadout players for fresh servers is a step towards minimizing loot losses due to tight time restrictions.
Earlier this year, Arc Raiders’ design lead suggested that late spawns could provide opportunities for players to “profit economically,” a sentiment that did not resonate well with the community, leading to noticeable changes in the game’s handling of spawn issues.
