Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 Pro Update Is Just Around the Corner
Cyberpunk 2077 has consistently pushed the limits of technology within gaming, showcasing impressive innovation from its developers at CD Projekt Red. Over the years, the studio has refined the game to enhance performance and graphics, offering players virtually endless customization options for optimal gaming.
Given the game’s technological ambitions, it was surprising that it hadn’t received an official update for the PS5 Pro yet. However, CD Projekt Red has announced a forthcoming enhancement for this platform that aims to elevate the gaming experience on the latest console.
Just days after making the announcement, CD Projekt Red revealed that the PS5 Pro update will be available starting April 8. Alongside this news, Kuba Knapik, the studio’s global art director, detailed what players can anticipate in this update. With the implementation of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), players can expect a level of detail previously unseen on PlayStation consoles. Furthermore, ray tracing technology is set to enhance the game’s lighting, shadows, and reflections, providing a more immersive environment.
The update will feature three distinct ray tracing modes, each tailored to different preferences. The “Ray Tracing Pro” mode will prioritize visual fidelity, allowing players to experience stunning graphics at a target of 40 frames per second (fps) on displays that support Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). For those who prioritize performance, a “Performance Mode” will enable frame rates of up to 90fps on compatible VRR displays. Lastly, a standard “Ray Tracing Mode” aims to offer a balanced experience, providing both impressive visuals and 60fps gameplay.
These improvements promise to enhance the overall gameplay experience, and many players, especially those keen on frame rates, are eagerly awaiting the enhanced performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on their PlayStation consoles.
