The launch of MindsEye has been met with overwhelming disappointment, reminiscent of the issues faced during the Concord launch last year. Upon its release, the game was plagued by numerous bugs, prompting the development team to express their deep regret. Unfortunately, this gesture did little to salvage the game’s reputation, as it accumulated poor user reviews on Steam and has become the lowest-rated game of 2025 by critics.
The situation worsened during the launch weekend when the player count plummeted to a mere 260. In response, developers rushed to cancel sponsored streams while PlayStation began issuing refunds, paralleling the actions taken during the Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco in 2020.
While one might expect that players would engage with the game briefly before abandoning it, a surprising percentage of users have secured the MindsEye Platinum Trophy or its equivalent on other platforms. According to statistics, approximately two percent of players have persevered to unlock all achievements. This may seem marginal, yet it is considerable given the game’s swift decline in popularity.
In recent days, various players have shared their Platinum Trophy achievements on social media platforms, with data indicating that around 2.6 percent of players have accomplished this feat. Although 2.6 percent may not appear substantial, it surpasses the achievement rates of several prior poorly-received games. For instance, Food Truck Simulator, which bears similar review scores to MindsEye, boasts an achievement completion rate of only 0.6 percent. Likewise, Balan Wonderworld has an achievement rate of just 2.7 percent, despite being available for a longer duration.
It’s important to note that acquiring the Platinum Trophy in MindsEye isn’t exceptionally challenging. Reports indicate that achieving all 30 trophies requires roughly 10–15 hours, significantly less than many other titles. Nonetheless, credit is due to those who are dedicated enough to pursue trophy collecting over an extended period.
Interestingly, more players may soon consider pursuing the Platinum Trophy as the game is now being offered at significant discounts.
