As the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong approaches, anticipated within the next few months, excitement among fans is reaching a fever pitch. After enduring years of limited information, the community was finally treated to a wave of leaks, rumors, and updates on Steam earlier this year. However, with several summer showcases passing without any significant news—save for a humorous jab from Deadpool during the Summer Game Fest and a few fleeting glimpses at the Xbox Game Showcase—patience is wearing thin.
Fortunately, fans recently received a much-needed boost in morale, thanks to a post on a museum’s Instagram that provided an exclusive look at some artwork developed for the game.
Australian Culture Museum Showcases Hollow Knight: Silksong Artwork
Team Cherry, the developers behind Hollow Knight and Silksong, are based in Adelaide, Australia. Therefore, it is fitting that they feature prominently in the ACMI’s (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) upcoming Game Worlds exhibition, which kicks off later this year. This exhibition will include titles such as World of Warcraft, The Sims, Neopets, and, of course, Silksong, showcasing playable experiences from each game.
Scheduled to run from September 18, 2025, to February 8, 2026, this event has led many to speculate that Silksong will be released prior to its opening, as Team Cherry would likely want the game available in time for the exhibition. While this remains unconfirmed, it’s a reasonable theory.
With roughly two and a half months until the event, the ACMI has started actively promoting it, sharing several new artworks from Silksong on Instagram, generating considerable buzz within the community.
The event’s webpage states, “Explore original design materials, concept art and iconic objects from across genres, including indie gems and Triple-A masterpieces,” and the images posted on Instagram exemplify this, displaying everything from pencil sketches to digital artwork, pin badges, and even a large Hornet plush. Given that it has been two weeks since any significant news related to Silksong, this has become a major highlight for fans.
On the Silksong subreddit, enthusiasts have been enthusiastic about the shared artworks. One user, Dormotaka, expressed their excitement with, “HOW MUCH LONGER NOW…? MY. SILKSONG.” Despite some skepticism within the community—due to past experiences with misleading social media posts—these new artworks have been confirmed as genuine, fueling hopes that the game’s release is imminent. Let’s hope that’s the case!
